October 5, 2011 - The Library Foundation receives a $10,000 grant from the Verizon Foundation to fund the Let's Read Math program. The goal of “Let's Read Math” is to spread a joy for mathematics among children and the adults who care for them - at school, at home, or in various out-of-school settings. Read good children's books with math themes, and then do fun math activities related to each book. “Let’s Read Math” will enhance the work that librarians already do to promote literacy with young children. |
